MAY DAY (INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY)

Bravo labour! Bravo labour! We always said in every may day moment, there isn’t just a word, however from this sentence, our spirit have come out on labour day and our long life. Labour day is very important for many sector in the national also for international public. Labour strunggle is never die, and it’s become inspiration, also big power/spirit in our heart.
All of labour have good feeling for solidarity, sacrificie, discipline in our strunggle. The international public also can feel it. “Tunas Mulia” Domestic Workers Union who declared in April 27th 2003 in Yogyakarta Indonesia have together/join with others labour alliance (Aliansi Buruh Yogyakarta (ABY)/ Yogyakarta Labour Alliance), Yogyakarta public and university student on demonstration/mass action. There is for commemorate/celebrated our Labour Days on Saturday 1st May 2010 in Tugu Yogyakarta - Abu Bakar Ali Parking Park - Yogyakarta Government Office - Kantor POS Besar Yogyakarta (post office). We have variety of demand for a long time ago and until now heven’t yet recognized.
Especialy for Indonesian labour, most of us haven’t yet get welfare in our life. The mine point is about minimum wage and social guarantee, whereas our organization “Tunas Mulia” Domestic Workers Union have demand that we really want the government have recognize, that we are worker. We are close with variety of violence, exploitation and discrimination. Domestic workers often get physical, psychic, economic, sexual and social violence. There isn’t law and social protection for domestic worker as women and worker from the government, because of that, we are strunggling our right.
Most of domestic worker can’t go any where or do the sosialisation with others domestic worker. We should work and work like a robot and no rest, no holiday with low wage. we hope that our government recognize that we are workers. Because we haven’t yet get recognize that we are workers, so we have no rights as worker/labour. There is no job descripsion, no rest day per week, no working hour, no organization also low of skill. It makes many domesic workers violence case.
However all of labour alliance have demand;
1. We have refusal all of oppression bill for labour/worker.
2. Eraser of outsoursching system = Eraser of slave system
3. Eraser of contract system.
4. We need our welfare.
5. We have refusal of criminalization of labour organization also for organization comitte.
6. We demand that the government have been formed free education for labour/worker.
7. We demand the government have strategic bill for Indonesian labour/worker.
We hope that all of Indonesian domestic workers heve feel this labour day spirit for our freedom from variety of violence.
